# Install the Chrome extension

> Install the Agent Experience Collector on Google Chrome via the Chrome Web Store or enterprise deployment, so every agent contact captures machine, network, and softphone telemetry.

Install the Agent Experience Collector (AEC) on Google Chrome so every agent contact captures machine, network, and softphone telemetry and streams it to Operata.

## Before you start

* An [Operata account](/docs/get-started-overview) and your Operata Group ID.
* Google Chrome on a supported version. See [Browser compatibility](/docs/browser-compatibility) for the current list.
* For enterprise deployments: admin access to your Chrome Enterprise policy or device-management tool.

## Steps

### 1. Install the extension

Open the [Operata browser extension listing](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/operata-browser-extension/efhlocglafmcfhkpojjbckpbonbfbgdb) in the Chrome Web Store and click **Add to Chrome**.

For packaged enterprise deployments on Windows and macOS, follow [Google's guide to managing Chrome extensions](https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7532015?hl=en) and push extension ID `efhlocglafmcfhkpojjbckpbonbfbgdb` through your existing policy.

### 2. Confirm the extension is loaded

Open `chrome://extensions/` in the agent's browser. The Operata Collector appears in the list with the toggle in the on position. Chrome maintains the extension automatically; the [Chrome Web Store listing](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/operata-browser-extension/efhlocglafmcfhkpojjbckpbonbfbgdb) shows the current version.

### 3. Place a test contact

Have the agent open the contact center softphone in the same browser profile and place a test contact end to end.

## Verify

In the Operata console, open **Contacts** and filter to the last 10 minutes. Your test contact appears with the `serviceAgent` field populated — `browser.name` reads `Chrome` and `operataChromeExtVersion` matches the version shown in `chrome://extensions/`.
