# Install the Edge extension

> Install the Agent Experience Collector on Microsoft Edge via Microsoft Edge Add-ons or enterprise deployment, so every agent contact captures machine, network, and softphone telemetry.

Install the Agent Experience Collector (AEC) on Microsoft Edge so every agent contact captures machine, network, and softphone telemetry and streams it to Operata.

## Before you start

* An [Operata account](/docs/get-started-overview) and your Operata Group ID.
* Microsoft Edge on a supported version. See [Browser compatibility](/docs/browser-compatibility) for the current list.
* For enterprise deployments: admin access to your Microsoft Edge policy or device-management tool.

## Steps

### 1. Install the extension

Open the [Operata Collector listing](https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/operata-collector/ghgkknhlginpepabafckbejbpfmdppjk) in Microsoft Edge Add-ons and click **Get**.

For packaged enterprise deployments on Windows and macOS, follow [Microsoft's guide to managing Edge extensions](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-manage-extensions) and push extension ID `ghgkknhlginpepabafckbejbpfmdppjk` through your existing policy.

### 2. Confirm the extension is loaded

Open `edge://extensions/` in the agent's browser. The Operata Collector appears in the list with the toggle in the on position. Edge maintains the extension automatically; the [Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing](https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/operata-collector/ghgkknhlginpepabafckbejbpfmdppjk) shows the current version.

### 3. Place a test contact

Have the agent open the contact center softphone in the same browser profile and place a test contact end to end.

## Verify

In the Operata console, open **Contacts** and filter to the last 10 minutes. Your test contact appears with the `serviceAgent` field populated — `browser.name` reads `Edg` (Edge's user-agent identifier) and `operataChromeExtVersion` matches the version shown in `edge://extensions/`. (The field name keeps the Chrome prefix because the Edge extension shares the build pipeline with the Chrome version.)
