# Agent headsets and AI audio tooling

> The Agent Collector reads the agent's audio path — the headset itself, and any AI audio processing sitting between the headset and the softphone. Here's what Operata captures and how to set each vendor up.

Audio quality problems usually start at the agent's desk. The Agent Collector reads the audio path directly: which headset is connected, what it measured, and whether AI audio processing was running between the headset and the softphone.

## How it works

The [Agent Collector](/docs/collector-overview) browser extension talks to the vendor software already installed on the agent's machine. Each vendor exposes something different, so what Operata captures depends on which one you run.

## What you get

* **Device attribution** — the make and model in use on each contact, on the Headset Inventory page.
* **Headset audio measurements** — levels read at the device rather than inferred from the stream.
* **Processing state** — whether noise cancellation or accent conversion was active while the agent was talking.

Together these answer the question a voice quality dashboard can't: was it the network, the device, or the software processing the audio?
