Connect your AI tool to the Operata docs so it searches these pages when it answers a question. Ask “How do I install the Agent Collector on Amazon Connect?” and your AI tool reads the current install guide instead of guessing from its training data. The docs connection uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP). It’s read-only, and it returns only the pages your docs access lets you see. It’s separate from the Operata MCP Server, which queries your contact center data.

Before you start

  • Choose a server URL. The docs have two: Use the signed-in server if you have an Operata login. Use the public server if you don’t, or for an automated tool that can’t open a browser.
  • A supported AI tool: Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, or Claude Code), ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, or another tool that supports remote MCP servers.
  • Admin enablement, on some plans. On Claude Team and Enterprise, a workspace admin may need to enable custom connectors (Organization settings > Connectors). On ChatGPT Team, Enterprise, and Edu, a workspace admin may need to enable Developer mode.
You don’t need a token or API key. The signed-in server uses the same login you use to read gated pages on this site.

Steps

  1. Add the server to your AI tool, using the tab for your tool below. The examples use the signed-in URL. For the public server, swap in https://docs.operata.com/mcp.
  2. If you chose the signed-in server, sign in when your browser opens the docs login, then return to your AI tool.
In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, go to Customize > Connectors and add a custom connector. Enter the server URL:
Sign in when prompted. To use it in a chat, turn it on from the + button.
You can also connect from any docs page. Open the page menu next to the page title and select Connect to Cursor or Connect to VS Code. Both install the signed-in server.

Verify

Ask your AI tool a question the docs answer:
  • “Using the Operata docs, what does the Agent Collector collect?”
  • “What are the prerequisites for connecting Genesys Cloud to Operata?”
  • “Find the Operata API endpoint for listing calls.”
The answer cites pages on docs.operata.com. You don’t need to name a tool — your AI tool picks one. The connection provides three tools:
